Dead Against Her

A propulsive page-turner - Toni Rocchetti reviews Dead Against Her.

What an unexpected wild ride!

The first 20 or so percent I was unsure…a lot of the plot was getting bogged down with excessive details, so much so I had considered DNFing.

Summary - When Christa joins a tour group heading deep into the snowy expanse of the Rocky Mountains, shes hopeful this will be her chance to put the ghosts of her past to rest. But when a bitterly cold snowstorm sweeps the region, the small group is forced to take shelter in an abandoned hunting cabin. Despite the uncomfortably claustrophobic quarters and rapidly dropping temperature, Christa believes theyll be safe as they wait out the storm…

I’m so glad I continued – don’t get me wrong, this book needed a much tighter edit but the second half of the book made up for its shortcomings. Towards the end it was difficult to stop listening – so many twists, so intense, so many questions! Listening to this one while on a walk in the woods may not have been the best decision luckily I wasn’t towards the end.

I mainly listened and I think that’s the format I would recommend (I definitely bumped up the speed during the extremely descriptive portions).

Have you read this one?? If you’re in the mood for a twisty whodunit, I highly recommend Keep in mind, a few parts are a little gory (but they didn’t bother me and I am usually pretty squeamish).
